Closed Cell Foam Structure– STYROFOAM insulation products feature closed cell structure and maintain their R-value over time. The extruded polystyrene insulation products offer the highest moisture resistance of any foam plastic insulation. The result is high compressive strength and unparalleled resistance to water penetration. The polyisocyanurate insulation products do not readily absorb moisture.

R-Value– A measurement of resistance to heat flow. The greater the R-value, the greater the thermal efficiency—and a small increase makes a big difference. Cavity insulation only insulates between the studs, leaving those studs un-insulated. Rigid insulation covers the entire wall, providing a continuous layer of thermal protection and increasing the overall R-value and energy efficiency.

High Load 40 psi
STYROFOAM High Load 40 extruded polystyrene insulation is a closed cell extruded polystyrene foam insulation designed to meet the high strength requirements of ASTM C578 (TYPE VI) specifications. It combines a minimum compressive strength of 40 PSI with the excellent physical property characteristics of all STYROFOAM extruded polystyrene insulation products. As a result, it resists compressive creep and fatigue and delivers the long term compressive strength and R-value retention needed for high load applications. It is ideal for use in low temperature (freezer floor) applications where moderately heavy loads are expected. It is also recommended for insulating many highway installations.

STYROFOAM Buoyancy Billets are large blocks of rigid extruded polystyrene used as flotation devices for docks, rafts and boathouses. STYROFOAM Buoyancy Billets are composed of millions of tiny air cells, each one acting as an independent buoyancy chamber. A 10" billet provides 1-1/2 times the buoyancy of traditionally used steel drums. STYROFOAM Buoyancy Billets are lightweight and easy to install.
